Tal Piot Youth

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). Every other week RPC youth ages 13-17 meet during the Shabbat service at 10:30 a.m. to learn the Scripture in a fun and exciting way! This study helps the youth learn who Yeshua is, encourages them to take hold of the life G-d wants them to live, and helps them reali
ze the promise and purpose He has for each one of them. All youth ages 13-17 are welcome and encouraged to join in the experience!

The past several years Talpiot’s mission has been focused on building and strengthening the faith of each individual youth as their relationship with G-d takes shape. Concentrating on building a deeper understanding of who the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is, the breadth of meaning in Yeshua’s death and resurrection, and the knowledge and understanding of the Tanach and Brit Chadesha as it relates to the messianic believer. This mission strives to align with the the greatest commandment spoken by Yeshua: You shall love the L-rd your G-d with all your heart, soul, and mind (Deut. 6:4, Matt. 22:36-38).

In addition, it is our objective to also focus our learning on the second greatest commandment that is likened to the first: you shall love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:31, John 15:12). This second commandment is an integral part of our calling as believers in Yeshua, for we know that faith without works is dead (James 2:26) and in all things approving ourselves as minister of G-d to all those around us (2 Cor. 6:1-10). To accomplish this goal of loving our neighbor as ourselves we encourage our youth to focus on the following:

  1. 1.Mindset

We create partners each quarter to discuss the weekly Parashah, Haftarah, and Brit Chadeshah readings. Each individual will rotate in presenting the readings for the current week to the class.  It is important for the youth to read the Word of G-d and begin to learn how to discern the scriptures early in order for their minds to be regenerated by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).

  1. 2. Prayer

Creating unity among the youth by having accountability partners that are responsible for working together, 2 by 2, in developing personal and corporate prayer. Prayer is an integral part of our relationship with G-d.  Without prayer our relationship with the L-rd cannot grow and develop to its fullest spiritual ability.

  1. 3.Outreach

Begin to volunteer once per month in the community to minister and create an avenue of outreach to the people around us.  Outreach is a key component to the mission of Yeshua, reachi
ng all the world for the purpose of the Kingdom.

In addition to the bi-weekly lessons that are geared towards this mission, we hope that the initiatives we are taking will create an awareness of the importance of not only maturing in ones faith, but also taking a stake in the lives of the family and community around us. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about the classes and/or future activities we will be conducting.

G-d Keep You!
